Answer by  Sunitha (6)

IRA Distributions are given after retirement, so if account holder is disabled then he will not be able to work in case of permanent disability. Hence account holder will be allowed to take premature distributions without any penalty.

Usually IRA distributors yield the account activity of an account holder who is disabled to the next of kin or the power of attorney who holds decision making control or can be in charge of said account.

It is for physically challenged persons or those eligible for getting pension. If they disabled they can give power to withdraw money without any loss and penalty to care takers.
