Orajel works for any damage that has been done in around the area of the mouth. Its main ingredient is lidocaine, which is numbs the pain or the particular damage that has been done. It is not specific to just cold sores.
Orajel is used for lip if there is any cut on the lip and chapstick also used for a cut. If the cut is out side of the lip then should use chapstick if it is in inside, salt is best solution.
orajel is good for canker sores. if their is a cut on the lip then use neosporin and/or chapstic. both work great. chapstic and neosporin healed my busted lip really fast. but orajel could work im not saying dont try it. go for it if you want.
orajel numbs the lip(for pain). iv never tried it but i have a busted lip currently and im going to try it. ive heard fromother people it works well.so i would say go for it!!:-)
