No, Jagermeister does not have opium in it. Opium is a Schedule II drug that is highly addictive and is available only with a written prescription without refills. While it is approved for medical use it is not available in and form for consumers to buy in alcohol or over the counter.

How do you know this?, there are 56 SECRET ingredients in jagermeister and it just so happens that is is a kräuter liqueur flavored with herbs, in which case could quite possibly include opium poppy seeds, if true then jager would have trace amounts of opium in it.  add a comment

Jagermeister does not have opium in it, or any other illegal narcotic, for that matter. There have also been rumors of deer blood or elk blood and other really, ridiculous substances. These are all fabrications. It would be illegal and taken off the market years and years ago if it were true.

That along with the myth about there being blood in it are false. They are just somebodies idea of a joke. It only contains herbs and alcohol.

There are lots of rumors about Jagermeister, probably spurred on by the claim of "two secret ingredients", but you can bet that neither of them are opium.

No, opium is a schedule II drug and nothing can legally have opium in it. Jagermeister may contain poppies (the plant that opium is made from) so you might test a little positive when you take a drug test. Then again they test for alcohol as well so you still shouldn't drink if your taking a drug test.

I do not believe it contains opium I do believe it contains elk blood. I could be wrong about the elk blood. The licorice flavor is not pleasant at all.
