Yes, genetics play a role hair color. Many separate alleles on different chromosomes make up what will enventually become a persons hair color. Hair color is also an incomplete or semi-dominance trait, which is why hair color is so varied.

Yes. Just like all traits, dominate and recessive traits play an role in hair color. Depending on which colors are being crosses determines which is dominate and which is recessive. To figure out the probability see a genetic counselor.
