Does fever cause fatigue?

I've been sick for a few days, have a fever and I'm wiped out even though I've just been in bed the whole time.

Even though you haven't been active much, your body has been busy fighting off an infection inside. It's quite normal to feel tired when you have a fever. Make sure you get plenty of liquids and vitamins through your foods, especially Vitamin C. If you don't feel better in a week or so, call your doctor, just to be safe.

Yes, your body has been working overtime trying to get over the illness, and despite having gotten better you should take a few days to rest afterwards.

Yes, fever can cause excessive fatigue. This is mainly because a fever is a symptom that a body's white blood cells are doing battle with harmful bacteria, and the body is trying to eliminate this bacteria through sweat glands with a fever.

Yes it can. When you have a fever, your body is fighting whatever is making you sick. Everything is "turned up" with the fight, so that would explain the tired feeling. A fever is also a way of telling your body to slow down because you're sick. When your fever breaks you'll feel better.
