Clomid can cause abnormal bleeding in a very small percentage of cases. As an ovulatory stimulant it is designed to "kick start" the normal cycle of reproduction in a woman. If bleeding is observed you will need to contact your physician right away.

Clomid, an ovulatory stimulant currently approved by the FDA, has had an incidence of greater than 1% abnormal uterine bleeding in clinical usage trials. While the incidence is low (reported in 1.3% or 104 of 8029 clinical participants) FDA guidelines require manufacturers to list any adverse effects of medicine.

It can cause bleeding for some women. Mostly it can cause spotting, heavier menstrual periods than before, or bleeding between periods. These side effects are not very common, but should not be cause for concern. There is also the possibility that a user is experiencing implantation bleeding from a new pregnancy.

It lengthens the time between periods. When you do have your period, you may bleed for more days. This is the purpose of the drug and not a side effect.
