Does chemotherapy hurt while it is killing cells?

I am being treated for stage 3 ductal breast cancer and 1 day after taxol (given 1 x week) I am in so much pain. It's like snake bites all over my body and big stabbing pains in the breast and other areas known to be affected with the cancer.

Yes. Chemotherapy is not a painless process. As the treatment enters your body, it is killing the cancer cells, killing part of your body. It is not abnormal to feel pain, nausia, or be frequently fatigued.

Yes. Chemotherapy is effectively killing off parts of your body, so it will be painful. Some OTC and prescription drugs can help to limit the pain. If you are in an area where medical marijuana is available, this will help ease the pain of chemotherapy and is completely legal for you to use.

The chemotherapy is attaching the cancer cells which are wired into your body. Unfortunately, it will be painful and you will feel sick. Stay strong and you will make it!
