Capsaicin cream works to stop pain due to the main ingredient which is derived from chili peppers. Clinical studies have proven that the use of the cream did work more than that of a placebo, making it appear that it does relieve pain at least to some degree for most people.

Sure does! The active ingredient is from red chili peppers and helps stop pain throughout the body. This helps block the nerve receptors which cause the pain. Capsaicin has the ability to be neutralizer of what is called Substance P which is what cause pain in our nerve endings.

Capsaicin is the active ingredient in chili peppers that give them the heat or "kick". Test applying capsaicin cream to one joint on an arthritis patient and a placebo cream to another joint on the same patient showed that the Capsaicin cream did give substantial relief to the affected joint.

It blocks the nerve receptors in the body that cause pain. Specifically, our bodies transmit pain signals through a protein called "Substance P". Capsaicin blocks Substance P from binding to pain receptors, thus blocking nerves from transmitting pain signals to the spinal cord.
