Does anyone have any ideas why my Kia make a grinding noise when stopped and now just clicks when I turn the ignition key?

The battery is fine, although it has an immobilizer in the clutch.

The reason the engine may not be turning properly could be to do with the spark plugs. Spark plugs, although hard wearing, do need replacing over time. It is important that they are alligned properly when replaced, otherwise, regardless of their condition, they will not work anyway. To allign spark plugs, it is best to ask a mechanic.

Is the clutch lagging or dragging? Make sure that you check the timing belt and othe belts. The clicking in the ignition almost sounds like your altenator is bad or the good battery has a connection problem. The computer sytem of the automobile may also have a problem. Take it to where they can hook it up and check everything.

The timing belt or timing chain could be broken. The alternator or starter motor may have failed. There could be a blown fuse that is preventing another component from operating properly.

Your ignition/ starter might be bad (new one....not fun fixing it), but other than that i have no clue why.
