If it is allowed to get really bad it can take their life. You need to get the dog to the vet right away or you may risk losing it. Call ahead and ask them if there is something you can do for it at home till they can get her in to be seen.

Just like any infection, a urinary tract infection can cause a dog to become lethargic and week while it's immune system is trying to fight it.

It can. Any infection can cause weakness, but a urinary tract infection can cause serious changes in a dog because of the severity of the infection.
