No, you have to get a blood test that tests for antibodies. Or, have an active outbreak and have the sores swabbed and tested. Genital Herpes can be sneaky, and not show up for years, and you can be exposing others to the virus without knowing. Talk with your doctor if you have concerns.

No, this is not done automatically. You need to ask for extra testing beyond the standard testing which considering the vast STD diseases out there, it would be a really good idea to ask for additional testing.

A Pap Smear test for abnormal cells in your cervix. It does not in fact test for genital herpes or any other VD. You should ask your health practitioner specifically for a genital herpes test. They will test you for that. Perhaps you should ask for a full VD screening. They can do this with a blood test.

Most of the time, the PAP will not check for herpes, so you will want to ask your doctor to make sure. They can easily do the test while you are there, so be sure to ask; don't chicken out since this is definitely a need to know subject for you.
