In soccer, the goalkeeper is required to wear a different or distinguishing shirt color from those of his team and the opposing team. This is required so as to not confuse both the players and the officials throughout the match, especially when there is commotion in the area of the big box.

It is not only tradition, but FIFA Laws dictate that goalies wear a jersey that different from the rest of the team. Unlike the other players, the goalie is allowed to use his or her hands to touch the ball. The distinctive jersey allows the referees to easily identify the goalie for each team.

The goalie has to wear different jersey from there team. So they would know how is the goalie. the goalie usually wear long sleeve highlight shirt and soccer pants.
