No, geckos do not make good pets. They belong in the wild, not with humans. It is unlikely that you will be able to keep one healthy or happy. Geckos are fragile and require temperature control and a specific diet that is difficult to provide. Buying a gecko would encourage a market that should not exist.

Yes, and it really doesn't take much to take care of a gecko. All they need is a nice cage, heat and good food. They are very nice to have, but if you are looking for more interaction with a pet, you may want to get a dog or cat.

Leopard geckos make excellent pets. They only get about 8" maximum size and will eat insects, such as live crickets, which you get from the pet store.

Most people say Geckos are good reptiles to own. Low maintenance and usually all for play and supposedly very clean creatures. The leopard Gecko is supposed to the one of the best first pets for kids or adults alike. They can also live up to 15 years! A good long term pet.
