Does a "beware of dog" sign release you from any liability if the dog hurts somebody?

Someone told me that it's just an admission that you know the dog is dangerous.

If the person was trespassing on your premises, you are not liable. If your dog got out onto the street and hurts someone, you are liable.

The sign itself may not impact your case if your dog bites someone. There are a number of factors of importance such as if an individual was trespassing, etc.
