Do mother cats abandon their kittens if they are touched by humans?

I know some animals will abandon their young if they come in contact with humans.

Animals generally behave this way are prey animals (rabbits, birds, squirrels). If a rabbit mom can't tell if a baby is still a rabbit, she will leave it. But usually, prey animals are terrified by humans being near the nest and prefer abandoning babies to death by "monsters".

Although new kittens should not be handled excessively by people due to the kittens developing 'sore eyes', a mother cat will find her kittens even if they are moved and either stay with them or move them to a place she feels is safe.

This depends on the cat and, in my experience, how friendly and familiar it is with humans; not all mama cats will abandon her babies because you pet them, but its not a good ideal to fondle them too much.

No, not unless there is something wrong. Usually the mother will make an effort to reclaim her kitten from whoever is holding it. Not violently, but they are very protective.

No Mother cats will not abandon their young if touched by humans. most cats are domesticated and are used to human contact. Feral cats may be more suseptible to this but generally I would say no.
