Do I need to move the throttle linkage to adjust the carburetor?

It would depend on what sort of engine your car has and where the throttle linkage was in comparison to the carburetor. If you have an older model car, it will require the consultation of an verified auto mechanic.

You should not have to remove the linkage as all the adjustments are part of the linkage, or on the carbureter itself.

Usually no unless you have a setup that interferes with bowl removal. Idle adjustment can be made simply with a screw driver with no problem. Changing jets requires you to dissemble the carburetor so brackets or linkage may interfere with the process.

The throttle linkage doesn't need to be moved but part of this linkage is the idle adjustment screw. If the carburetor is to properly adjusted it must be done while the car is in a fast idle. Turn the adjustment screw until you have a reading of 5000RPM on a Master Tool tachometer. Don't trust any other tachometer. Adjust the carburetor.

I think you might have to, but you should ask a professional if you do need to. Best of luck to you.
