A shot of 80 proof alcohol contains 80 calories. Most wine and wine based drinks (port, sherry) contain 100 calories or less in a "normal" sized drink. A beer will kick you up to 150. Once you start adding ingredients(which usually contain sugar), the calories can add up. A margarita has 165 calories, a Long Island Iced Tea, 500.

Depending on the type of drink you prefer, calories in alcoholic beverages can range from between 65 and 85 calories for a glass of dry white or red wine and between 180 and 200 calories for a pint of beer or cider. Spirits, such as, gin, whisky or rum contain a walloping 220 calories for every 100ml.

Yes the alcoholic drinks have a lot of calories in it. Infect the bottle alcohols have more calories then the can alcohols which is called diet alcohols. The ingredients in the alcohol had large amount of calories contained in it. More calories can harm liver and kidneys and also affect the other parts of the body.

Yes, but the amount of calories depends on the drink. A bottle of regular beer has about 150 calories, a glass of white wine about 120 calories. Mixed drinks tend to be higher in calories. For example a margarita has about 450 calories, a martini about 400 calories and a pina colada about 300 calories.

Some alcoholic drinks do have quite a few calories. A pint of premium beer has 187 calories. A single vodka and coke has 56 calories.Four to five pints of premium beer would add up to a lot of calories i suppose, that is why men have a beer gut.
