The book entitled Neighbor Law from Nolo Press was extremely helpful to me when I had to take my nieghbors to small claims court for not paying their fair share of replacing the fence we shared that was falling apart. I followed the instructions provided and was able to win my case in court.

This book is useful for the most basic understanding of your civic rights with your neighbors. Has your neighbor complained that your tree branches are overhanging his property? How do you read a property blueprint? What happens when neighbors trespass? For more advanced legal advice, though, consult an attorney.

The book is written by two attorneys. It is helpful with regard to avoiding disputes with neighbors. But then, so is being friendly and open.
