Your infant could have gas for any number of reasons, but the thing that you should focus on is diet and burping practices. If the child is eating new foods, it could be the cause. Anytime you feed your baby you should burp him or her which will minimize gas.

Baby cereal can definitely cause gas! Some babies will have a lot of gas when they first start eating cereal, and others will continue to have trouble with it.

Yes. If your baby's digestive system is too immature to handle the cereal then it could cause all kinds of gastrointestinal distress.

Severe gas is a sign that the baby is not tolerating or is just not ready for the cereal type.

Yes, certain cereals can cause a babies tummy to produce gas especially when first starting. My suggestion is to try switching brands or mixing it with a fruit or vegetable.
