Lemon juice is not strong enough to lighten your skin because it only had citrus acids. What it does though is be a excellent exfolliant. The acids when combibed with anything that has salyicic acid like vinegar will remove the dead skin layer and polishes the skin to gives it a nice sheen.

Actually, this is true! However, it takes repeated application, and of course you should keep it away from sensitive areas and don't use it on a large area (i. e. you face). Consider, though, that you're beautiful exactly the way you are and there's no need to live up to anyone else's ideal.

The acid in lemon juice will dry out your skin if you apply it to your face. While you can use it as a natural hair highlighter, it is not recommended for use on your skin.
