Can you translate the good Samaritan Bible story for modern times?

I would like to tell an updated version of this story.

One day a woman pulled over to take a cell phone call. The driver behind her stopped, dragged her from her car and assaulted her. She was left bleeding, unconscious in the snow. Next an executive swerved past and sped off. A sports captain and a senator drove by. Finally a Muslim student stopped, administered first aid and called 911.

There's a kid on the side of the road who just fell off his skateboard and is badly hurt. A pastor walks by and does nothing. A rabbi sees him and scolds him for riding a bike. But a homeless druggie takes him to the hospital and cares for him.

The parable of the good Samaritan is that there was a man who had been robbed and two religious leaders just went by the man and did not help him. The lesson is that we should show love and compassion no matter a persons race or religion or status just like the Samaritan did and like Jesus did.

You could put a member of Al Qaeda into the story instead of the Samaritan, and a pastor and a priest in for the ones who didn't help. That would make people think.
