Can you tell me how to unlock a file in Microsoft Word?

If you are the original owner of the document, you should be able to go to Permissions and allow yourself to unlock the file. Otherwise, there are programs that you can search for to unlock the document though I don't recommend doing that.

Hello, try passware. The passware kit works fine on retrieving losst passwords for most office documents (and several other things :)) Just google for passware. The Passware Kit is quite easy to use and worked several times fine for me. Another way could be trying to open the document with Openoffice Writer.

This happens because of unexpected errors in Mycomputer Explorer search and delete files of type -*.tmp,~*.do?,*.wbk.If it is password protected type goto VBAeditor search for password and remove.

goto tools menu,then click product document,then in the password field type your password,click ok button,then type re-entry password and then ok.to unlock tools->unproduct document->type type the existing password->ok

To remove the write protection, the easiest way is to go to the menu save as. You can in the explorer view change the settings with a right mouse click.
