If the tape is on glass or a smooth ceramic, a razor blade with a little water should do. Otherwise, you'll need a citrus solvent such as "Big Orange. "

Mix equal parts water and fabric softner into a spray bottle. Spray the tape until it is saturated. Scrape or pull the tape off the area.

Depending on the surface that the tape is stuck to there are several options. The most widely recognized is to use a white eraser to remove the tape and it's adhesive. Vinegar applied directly to the tape has also been shown to be successful. If the surface is not smooth, it may be more difficult.

Add equal parts of liquid fabric softener and water to a spray bottle, shake to mix. Spray mixture on the masking tape until saturated. Let sit for at least fifteen minutes. Remove the tape with your fingers, it should come up easily. If does not come up easily, spray and repeat.

Sun baked masking tape can be a tough thing to get off of surfaces. Try spraying the masking tape with windex and scraping with a flat head screwdriver.

Pul off what you can with your fingernail. Make a soapy solution and put on remains. Let it stand and use a single edge razor and carefully remove the film. If that does not work try Goo be Gone.

Sun-baked masking tape should be able to be removed with a two step process. First remove all the tape that you can pull off. Then use an unglue product available at hardware stores to remove the residue.
