Can you tell me how to clean the EGR valve in a Geo Metro?

I had this problem with my Geo too. You have to get inside the engine, declamp the filter and open the metal piece with the valve. Squirt in some degreasing car fluid and scrub (I used a paper towel). Repeat until black gunk stops coming out.

You should be able simply unbolt the valve and spray it with some parts cleaner. THe build up may be pretty hart so you a brush and some strong cleaner.
