Darvocet is considered an L2 drug in breastfeeding, meaning it is safer than many drugs, but not as safe as the very safest, like Tylenol. If you must take a pain medication while breastfeeding, Darvocet is an acceptable choice and is not likely to make your baby excessively drowsy or cause other side effects.

No. Any medication that you take during pregnancy or while breastfeeding is absorbed through your breast milk. Anything that you take will be felt directly by your child. If you NEED to be on these drugs STOP breast feeding.
