You may want to try a warm wet towel several times a day applied right to the cyst. Some cysts are like infected pimples and this can help it drain.

Hot compresses and antibiotics are often used for cysts of the skin. The soaking of a cyst, using compresses, antibiotic ointments truly depend on the type of cyst that it is. Some cysts are not from clogged pores as they seem to be, but actually fatty cysts to be removed surgically.

Cysts are located inside the body, even if they are close to the skin. Soaking it will not help it shrink, but it may bring relief to a painful cyst. Discuss with your doctor if this is a good idea and what temperature water to use, hot or cold, to prevent damage to the cyst or surrounding tissue.

A cyst is an infection caused by germs on your skin. The germs penetrate through a tiny opening in the skin. A cyst is your body's way of defending itself against the germs. Usually soaking a cyst won't do much good because the water is unable to penetrate that deep.
