Can you send fruit from the U.S. to another country?

My friend in Jamaica loves blueberries from Maine.

It depends on the laws of the country you are sending the fruit to. The US will allow export but not import of unapproved fruit.

I do not believe it is permissible to send fruit (among other things) to another country from within the United States, nor is it legal to receive fruit from another country. This is a safety precaution to prevent the transfer of foreign diseases, bugs, etc.

It is possible to send fruit to other countries in the world. However, this can be a bit tricky, since fruit will spoil unlike other things, such as mail or clothing. Many times fruit is sent out before it is ripe, so that it will begin to ripen on the voyage and be at the peak of ripeness upon arrival.

you have to check with your local post office to find if the fruit you wish to ship is mailable or not.
