Can you replace an Oldsmobile crankshaft?

Can you do it without rebuilding the engine?

You should be able to replace the crank without doing a complete rebuild although it would be a good idea. You need to drop the oil pan, unbolt the caps, and unbolt the rod ends. Then the new crankshaft can be installed with new bearings and seals.

Yes you can replace it without a rebuild. Drop the oil pan, both unbolt cap and rod ends. Next install the new crankshaft, new bearings and seals. Even though it would of been good to rebuild the engine. The reason I say this is cause you would have a more chance of it lasting you.
