Fennec foxes originate from sandy desert areas. They are becoming more rare in the wild for people's desire to own them as pets. They are similar to the North American Kit fox. They need much care and attention as a pet. The fennec fox is not listed as a dangerous exotic animal in Mississippi so it can be a pet.

You may own one in that state if you hold a breeder's lisence, or a permit for wild animals. These type of animals have special needs in regards to socialization, because they scare quite easily. Many people who are unfamiliar with these animals have been injured.

From the research that I conducted, I have found that the ownership of a fennce fox in Mississippi is permitted. Although there will be certain guidelines that you will be required to follow as with any exotic pet.
