Can you make a tapestry out of crochet?

Or is there a special way to make tapestries?

Traditionally Tapestries are made either by embroidering or weaving; but, with sufficient patience any complex design on fabric - including crochet - could be used as a Tapestry.

You would have to use a very small stitch, with very little nap, very small holes and on a small hook. It would not have the same stiffness or structure that tapestry does. It would take an extraordinary amount of time to make tapestry by crochet. Save crochet for functional items like mitts or delicate items like doilies orbaby clothes.
