Yes of course your dog can eat vegetarian, and no It's not unhealthy for them at all. There is a wide variety of vegetarian dog food available. Visit your local pet store and have someone help you in selecting the right food for your dog. In my own personal experience my dog is much happier with the vegetarian food.

I don't think its a good idea since Dogs are carnivores and they need meat. Moreover, Only with vegetarian food they are not going to be strong enough. They may have a very soft nature. Even though if you are a vegetarian, let them eat meat.

Dogs appear to be able to adapt to an all-plant diet, but should probably have animal protein during stressful times of life, such as during pregnancy or puppyhood. (On the other hand, cats must eat a meat-based diet.) Always check with your vet before switching your dog's diet.

Yes it is they are born carnivores they have to have red meat to eat other wise they will be lacking in their diet and they will get really sick on you and you can lose them and that will not be good at all the one that could tell you best would be your vet.
