Can you keep red ear sliders in ponds?

I would like to keep my red ear sliders in a pond.

Yes, if the pond is one that is natural and you are in an area that doesn't freeze, sliders can do very well in ponds providing there is a plentiful food source. I don't recommend a store bought pond because they aren't deep enough to safely survive in winter months and are susceptible to predators.

Yes you can keep the red ear slider in a pond with goldfish as well. These turtles love to have a large area to swim around in. It should be about 100-120 gallon pond for the turtle to live in. You'll need to be sure to have a basking rock in the pond for the turtle as well.

Of course! just make sure the pond is the right temp. for his comfort. Red eared sliders naturally love small bodies of water.
