No more than 5% can be GED holders, so it depends on where recruiting in your area. You can get around that with 15 semester hrs of college, 22 quarter hrs of college-level credit, or 675 vo-ed clock hours. You also need at least a 50 on the ASVAB.

Yes you can join the Marines with a certified GED diploma. A GED diploma is the high school equivelant to the regular diploma. Just make sure that it has the graduating school on there.

Marines are one of the most forgiving armed services out there. Although an actual diploma is prefered, the service will not pass you by simply because you have a GED. Be honest and disclose everything, trust me, they have waivers for everything youcan think of or have done. So relax and remember Semper Fi.

The Marines are the most selective branch of the military in who they will accept. In addition to passing rigorous physical requirements, and obtaining a high score on the military's aptitude and intelligence test, the Marines require a high school diploma. Other branches of the military, such as the army or navy, will accept recruits with a GED.
