There are way to many things that can rattle. It would be impossible to diagnose without further information, such as location of sound, when it rattles, and things of that sort. It could be anything from lose body panels to lose catylitic cover, strut covers, something lose in the steering, and so on. I would need more information.

A rattling sound likely means a loose nut somewhere. Try turning on the engine but having it sit in the driveway with the hood open. This will help isolate if it's a loose nut in the engine. If not, it might be related to a wheel.

Try looking under the vehicle while an assistant steps on the brake. Look for loose exhaust components or shields that have come loose.

The first place I would start for a rattling sound is the exhaust system. These are usually the first place a rattling sound would come from.
