If the wand or other device used to pickup ultrasound images and sounds (doppler), is close enough to one of the mothers' larger vessels, it can certainly also pick up the sound of the mother's heart beat. This would be easily distinguishable from that of the fetus, who would have a much more rapid beat.

No you cannot. You can view and hear only the baby's heart beat on a vaginal ultrasound. The mother's heart is in her chest! However the probe can pick the pulsations of the mothers uterine artery, etc and this will be in tandem with the mothers heart.

It is possible, depending on the angle. But the mother's heartbeat does not sound like a babies heartbeat, so you would be able to tell the difference.

Yes it is possible. During most ultrasounds you will hear two heartbeats if you are far enough along to hear the baby's. However the doctor can tell the difference between the baby's and the mother's and normally will pin point the baby's for the mother to hear.

Ultrasound can measure the flow within a vessel. If the ultrasound was looking at the uterine artery, you might be able to "hear" the mother's pulse.
