I actually found a pineapple seed and I put it inbetween a warm, wet papertowel and let it sit. I looked a couple weeks later, and it had sprouted. I now have it in potting soil, and it has worked so far! :)

Thanks for the info. I also found seeds in a pineapple I bought at the supermarket, that was really sweet, and would like to try it.  add a comment

Pineapples are usually propagated vegetatively. Seeds are only used by commercial growers for breeding purposes. Nick the seed and plant as deep as it is long in moist (not soggy) potting soil and place the pot inside a plastic baggie. Keep it warm (75-80 F). It will take a long time (up to 6 months to germinate).

Pineapples come from trees. Although it is, of course, possible to grow them from seeds, it is much easier and more common to grow them from saplings. They also require very warm weather, so people who live in cold areas will probably be unable to grow them successfully at all.

Pineapples do not grow on trees, the plants more resemble a bush. They are part of the bromeliad plant family. You can't grow them from "saplings" but you can grow them from the top of the pineapple that you buy at the grocery store.  add a comment
