Bobcats in western Washington tend to be darker than those in eastern Washington. They are solitary animals a little larger than the average house cat. They live about 12 years in the wild and will prey on all smaller wild animals.

Bobcats come in different color and they also move very fast. They can be a problem in that they take the lives of small animals such as dogs and cats. They are usually of a medium frame and weigh up to 55 pounds.
