Palace Chase allows personnel to transfer from the active duty to the reserves and curtail their current enlistment. Normally you have to have a Reserve position lined-up to be accepted.

The palace chase program allows active duty military members to transfer to the National Guard or Reserve forces voluntarily. Enlistment times left may be waived, but full command goes to the gaining unit.

The PALACE CHASE program allows active duty officers and airmen to voluntarily transfer from active military service to the United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR)or the Air National Guard (ANG). The member's remaining active duty service commitment (ADSC)or term of enlistment (TOE)may be waived, for approved applicants,in exchange for the member's agreement to participate in a Selected Reserve USAFR or ANG program.
