Can you give me a simple pattern for crocheted scarves?

Also, recommendations for really soft yarn would be appreciated.

There are different patterns for scarves, you can use any crochet stich and carry it throughout the desired length.First four rows single crotchet to desired width, then alternate two rows of double crotchet with two rows of single crotchet to desired length.

Scarves are great basic and quick projects for crocheters, because you are working on a simple rectangle, so there are no crazy curves, decreases, or increases to deal with. Web-sites offer different patterns for scarves, but you can also use any crochet stich and carry it throughout the desired length.

There are so many different crocheted scarves patterns on the web - google has thousands. Soft yarn is often aimed at babies, so Bernat is good.
