Can you give an example of a math word problem using rounding?

I'm teaching my children estimating.

On a trip to the grocery store, Carol paid the following prices for certain items: $1. 85, $4. 35, $7. 89, and $2. 27. Round to the nearest dollar to estimate the total amount. Answer: 2 + 4 + 8 + 3 = $17. These items cost about $17.

If there are 21 people who want to go to the zoo and only 4 people can fit in each car, how many cars will you need to get to the zoo? Obviously you will need 5 cars, or else 1 person would be left behind. Questions like these help kids with rounding skills.
