Ciprofloxacin is used to treat/prevent specific infections caused by certain bacteria. NEVER give an animal any prescription medication that is not Rx'd by a veterinarian, especially an antibiotic for a undetermined infection. You will harm the dog and create resistance to treatment. Call your vet.

No. All antibiotics should be prescribed by the vet. There are specific animal medications with special dosing that the vet will prescribe.

If one thinks their dog has an infection it is important for a vet to see the dog and determine what type of infection is involved. Animals should not take human medications unless a vet prescribes it for them. Never give medications unless you are sure it is safe.
