Can you get instruments on credit?

My kids want to play in the school band, but the school doesn't provide instruments.

Many instrument stores rent instruments with plans so you can put the rental fees toward purchasing the instrument if the student continues playing. Some shops have credit plans, and most certainly accept credit cards.

You can get them on credit. Often a better option is to do instrument rentals. Most music shops allow customers to rent instruments for the school year, with an option to buy later on. It's like credit, but usually not as costly.

Many music stores have a rent to own program. These programs often allow you to pay off an instrument and then trade it in with no financial loss (if the instrument is in good condition) on a better-quality instrument. Music stores want kids to play music, so they do their best to help families get instruments for their kids.
