When peanut butter is frozen, the oils will separate and, when thawed, will be edible, but unappetizing. It should be stored in a sealed jar at room temperature or refrigerated.

Peanut butter can be frozen to extend shelf life, but only for a couple of months. After that time the fat can become rancid, even frozen.

It is not recommended that you freeze peanut butter. If you do it will separate the oils which will cause the peanut butter to go to waste. If you want to store peanut butter, you can store it in a cold place (just not a freezer).
