From recent experience, I can say with certainty "Yes". It is quite painful (severe cramping and stabbing pain which can be very distressing and difficult to identify) and can be dangerous if the area becomes infected. There are also a number of symptoms that follow, as it causes irritation in the abdomen in it's wake which can last weeks.

Some women claim they could. It is desribed as a twinge or sometimes severe pain. There is also a small amount of fluid at times that's released.

This can be very serious pain and may feel like really severe menstrual cramps. One should seek medical advice as to whether they need medical attention.
