At the base of the tail of the bearded dragon, just behind the anal vent, there will be a number of bulges. Two bulges signify a male, where one or none signify a female. The male has two bulges due to his hemipenis, which is split into two separate penises.

You can tell by placing the dragon on the palm of year hand. Then lifting up it's tail, a male will have two circular bumps at the base of it's tale. While a female will have one. Though you will have to wait until they are 8-9 months old.

You need to look under the tail. Usually there is going to be either a knot or two knots under the skin. If you see that there is two knots then it's a male. Otherwise one or no knots indicate that it is a female. You need to examine closely to be sure.

Look on the underside of the dragon near the anal cavity on its tail (Lift the tail up). If there are 2 bumps(one on either side) you have a male. If there is one bump in the center (or rather a lack of 2 bumps) it is female.

Adult male bearded dragons are generally bigger than females (in terms of total body mass). They also have a larger head and "beard" relative to body size than females do. There beards also seem to be darker, and darker more often than females. The gender of younger animals is harder to tell withought probing the animals.
