You can substantially cleanse your liver by avoiding certain products, mainly alcohol, soft drinks, fried foods and candies that have a lot of chemicals. The liver is in charge of clearing out toxins, so the fewer toxins, the healthier your liver.

The only way to do a liver cleanse is to avoid any alcohol or drugs and keep your diet healthy. The only way to truly cleanse your liver is to inject a line into your liver - not a pleasant thought.

You can do a liver cleanse on your own, but ideally you should be under the supervision of a medical doctor. Sometimes doing a cleanse can aggravate or provoke a condition you may not be aware of. For instance, if you have high liver enzymes, it indicates your liver is under stress and may not handle the extra workload well.

I honestly would not feel comfortable doing a liver clense on my own. I would preffer to leave it up to my DR. to do something like that.

I would be a little reluctant to do a liver cleanse on my own simply because it can be uncomfortable.
