Can you clean diamonds in Dawn dish soap?

I have heard that this is a good idea.

Yes, you can, although you might want to dry them in rubbing alcohol so that there is no residual build up of soaps. You can use an old toothbrush to scrub them, but avoid the setting as much as possible to avoid scratching the soft metals around the stones.

Yes, cleaning diamonds with dawn dish soap works. There are oils and dirt that get trapped in diamond rings and earrings. Dawn breaks down the oils. Use a few drops of dawn in warm tap water. Place your diamond in for 10-20 minutes. Remove and brush with a toothbrush. This should remove excess debree.

Diamond jewelry can be cleaned using any mild dish soap, such as Dawn or Ivory. Put a drop of the dish soap in a small bowl and fill it with warm water. Soak your jewelry for a few minutes and then use a soft toothbrush to gently clean all surfaces. Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

You can. Another great idea is toothpaste. You get just plain toothpaste and rub it on your diamonds and let sit for a few minutes. Then rinse well.

You could, as long as you rinse them well to get all the detergent off and not leave a residue. Another idea is a solution of half ammonia, half water.

Rings collect dust, grease and other particles that accumulate and cause dirt. Cleaning your diamonds with Dawn should not hurt your jewelry. Of course, a jeweler's product is preferred. If you use Dawn do not wash in hot or boiling water. Dawn is mild and is used to cleanse animals.
