Can my homeowners association tell me what I can put on my car?

When you live in a planned neighbor you basically give the HOA permission to make the rules and you agree to abide by them. If you are objecting to what they want you to do perhaps you might want to move somewhere else.

Actually yes they can (as well as the city you live in) they can tell you that you can't park it in your yard, on the street, and sometimes even in your back yard. You automatically agree to the HOA agreement when you rent or buy a home in their neighborhoods.

No. They can tell you where you can park the car. But a car's decoration is your decision, especially if parked in your garage at night.

Homeowners associations can dictate where you park, if it is in writing in the association rules clearly. You should have a copy of any paperwork from the association.
