Unpaid medical bills can ruin a person's credit score eventually. If a bill remains unpaid, most hospitals will send the matter out to a collection agency, who will report it to the credit scoring companies.

Yes medical bills can hurt your credit score. Especially if the hospital sells your debt to a collection agency. If you bill has not already gone to a collection agency, call the hospital and set up a payment plan. They are usually willing to negotiate with you. They want the bill to be paid too.

Yes, non-payment or slow payment of medical bills can and will ruin your credit. In fact, medical bills are traditionally the number one reason that people file for bankruptcy. Try to pay your medical bills on time or obtain extensions from the providers you owe. If all else fails, you may find it necessary to file bankruptcy too.
