Management has the right to monitor the activities of all employees, especially those handling cash. Management doesn't have to advise anybody of monitoring. Management cannot accuse or terminate an employee for a criminal act until charges are filed with the police and the individual is tried.

Management can investigate any one of their employees without the employee's knowledge up to a point. Auditing the till takes, reviewing closed camera footage and interviewing co-workers are all perfectly legal. However, depending on local laws they can not search personal property or personal storage space, locker, without consent. Unfortunately a lot of employments require this consent for employment.
